About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator based in Truganina. This role is accountable for supporting the successful attraction, selection, and retention of award- based team members into the distribution centre with responsibility in delivering best practice aligned to national talent acquisition standards. The role plays an integral part in connecting leaders and key partners to create an engaged workforce to achieve productivity & safety standards.

This is a full-time position with hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, five days a week. The role will be based at our new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Truganina. This 115,000-square-meter site houses logistics operations for the distribution of grocery, liquor, and perishable stock. You will also be a part of the Logistics Leadership team, reporting directly to the Talent Acquisition Strategy Manager, Supply Chain, and indirectly to the Logistics Operations Manager on-site.

 

In this Role

  • First point of contact, participate in and support interview & selection process to determine candidate suitability across Metcash casual, part-time & full-time roles.
  • Co-ordinator for key stakeholders for direct to Metcash employment via Korn Ferry, Nimble and labour hire agencies channels.
  • Plan for and organise pre-employment medical assessment, liaise with internal stakeholders inclusive of the internal health & injury management team and the medical & functional provider.
  • Maintain close relationships, connection, and liaison with casual labour hire agencies to achieve consistency in the supply of team members aligned to cultural fit, and suitability to the store worker position.
  • Support labour hire agencies & warehouse leaders to drive labour efficiencies, productivity analysis & correction, retention, and quality of standards.
  • A key stakeholder on contract management of labour hire agencies, inclusive of being the key contact for prospective agency onboarding, connecting the agency with the DC leadership team and Talent Acquisition Strategy Manager, Supply Chain.
  • Working with Metcash’s RPO Talent Acquisition team deliver activities related to the sourcing, supply and onboarding of award based & labour hire agency team members into the distribution centre.
  • Support literacy & numeracy assessment activities and determine capability of incoming candidates as presented by the labour hire agency.
  • Engagement with leaders to build & drive a positive candidate experience as part of the attraction, selection & onboarding process into the distribution centre.
  • Ensure all successful candidate and newly onboarded team member documentation is accurate, completed in full and forwarded to the appropriate team.
  • Collation & reporting of activities related to distribution centre recruitment & onboarding activities & review of current local industry trends.

 

 

 

You’re Likely a Match If You Have…

  • Experience across different recruitment approaches inclusive but not limited to direct hire, traditional recruitment platforms, labour hire, local communities (e.g., institutions & groups) and social-media platforms.
  • Awareness of the local labour market including attraction & retention strategies e.g., standards related to employee value proposition (EVP).
  • Previous experience in and sound knowledge of warehouse DC operations inclusive of but not limited to store worker (receipt, assembly, & dispatch) manual handling equipment operators (e.g., forklift, electronic pallet jack) and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience of direct on-site connection & management of award-based and labour hire teams with distribution centres or similar workplace environments.
  • Experience influencing & negotiating with leadership teams & key stakeholders in FMCG environments or similar, preferably within warehousing & supply chain industry.
  • Understanding of & desirable labour hire account management experience with primary responsibilities in the supply & sourcing of labour hire candidates for warehousing & supply chain organisations or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated a flare for new initiatives & campaigning for the purpose of sourcing candidates particularly with a reduced candidate pool and during peak periods.
