Frame & Truss Production Worker

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Hudson Mitre 10 Frame & Truss Bomen for a Factory Hand who is keen to develop into a Timber Frame & Truss Estimator/Detailer.

This role is ideal for someone with timber, construction or building industry experience (although this is not essential) who enjoys working with numbers, technology and problem solving, and is looking to build a long-term career in the industry.

You will begin working within our Frame & Truss production environment, gaining hands-on knowledge of our products, systems and processes. Over time, you will be supported and trained to transition into an Estimator/Detailer role, learning how to read building plans, complete costings and assist with the design of roof truss, wall frame and floor systems.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is computer savvy, strong in mathmatics, detail-oriented and motivated to grow their career.

What you will be doing

• Work as part of the production team in our Frame & Truss manufacturing facility

• Gain hands-on knowledge of timber frames, roof trusses and floor systems

• Support Estimators with reviewing building plans and learning how to calculate costings

• Assist in the preparation and development of frame and truss designs for manufacture

• Learn to use estimating and detailing software (training provided)

• Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure projects are delivered on time

• Build knowledge and skills to transition into an Estimator/Detailer role over time

What you will bring to the role

• Current valid driver’s licence (essential)

• Forklift licence (highly regarded)

• Timber, building or construction industry experience (highly desirable)

• Strong numeracy and mathmatic skills

• Computer savvy with the ability to learn new systems and software

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to read or learn to interpret building plans

• A positive attitude and passion to grow your career within the industry

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
