Forklift Operator/Yardperson

About the role

Keith Truss Plant is looking for a reliable and motivated Forklift Operator/Yardperson to join our team in a hands-on, varied role.

This position will primarily involve loading and unloading trucks, handling and organising finished timber frames and trusses, and ensuring our yard, loading bays and surrounding work areas are kept clean, safe and well maintained.

You'll also provide support to our truss manufacturing team when required, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working as part of a team and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy manufacturing site.

This is a casual position with occasional weekend work.

What you'll be doing

1. Operate forklifts to safely move, handle and organise finished timber frames, trusses and other materials.
2. Load and unload trucks, ensuring finished products are handled safely and efficiently.
3. Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard, including loading bays, storage areas and general site surrounds.
4. Organise and prepare finished goods for dispatch, ensuring products are correctly positioned and ready for loading.
5. Assist with the assembly and manufacture of timber frames and trusses when additional support is required in the production plant.
6. Work closely with production and transport teams to support efficient daily operations and timely dispatch of finished goods.
7. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a positive, safe and productive team environment.

What we're looking for

1. A current forklift licence
2. Dogging licence (advantage)
3. Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction-related role, preferably in frame and truss production
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
6. Good problem-solving and communication skills
7. A safety-focused mindset and willingness to comply with all WHS requirements
