he Metcash Food Service and Convenience business includes a banner of brands that specialise in the supply to wholesale, convenience, foodservice and QSR customers across Australia. About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager – Meat (a proven track record in meat sales is essential) to join our team in Reservoir in a full-time permanent position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the food industry, with a particular focus on high-quality products. This is an exciting opportunity to represent a company that is the envy of its competitors in the market, being well-established with the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers in the food service industry.
In this Role
- Develop and manage a portfolio of clients, including restaurants, butchers, wholesalers, stadiums etc.
- Develop & nurture the relationships with Venues, Chefs & Site Managers
- Promote and sell a variety of quality meat products, ensuring high-quality customer service and product knowledge.
- Generate new business by identifying and targeting potential customers.
- Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients, offering consistent support and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Keep up to date with market trends, product offerings, and competitor activities.
- Review monthly sales reporting with management to determine budgeted sales and objectives (KPI's).
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. (Suppliers/Line Management/Senior Management/Administration).
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to promote the brand and expand business networks.
What are we looking for?
- Availability – Start July 2026.
- Minimum 2 years proven experience in Food Service sales within the meat industry.
- Strong understanding of meat products, cuts, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with customers quickly.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads (up to 15 kg) if required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is a plus.
- A passion for food and delivering quality customer service.
